"Weight of the World" è una canzone sul sentire la pressione di ciò; io adoro i nostri fan e non intendo dire "mi tiro indietro, non voglio questa pressione". E' interessante, fare concerti e incontrare i fan dopo lo show e andare sui diversi siti Web, i fan site e vedere tutte queste esperienze personali che3 le persone condividono e tutti i consigli e le risposte che alle domande che loro cercano di avere da me. A volte rispondo e a volte voglio continuare. Voglio essere lì per le persone e dire loro cosa penso, ma allo steso tempo non sono una terapista e nemmeno un dottore e non ho tutte le riposte sul senso della vita. Il fatto è che la nostra musica è profonda e io cerco delle risposte e credo che in questa canzone stavo davvero esprimendo che questo è come una forte pressione a volte e volevo definitivamente dire a tutti quei fan che non sono una profeta e non ho tutte le risposte, perciò avete realmente bisogno di guardare in voi stessi e iniziare quel percorso da soli.

Le chitarre si interrompono mentre la voce di Amy si perde tra accennati borbottii e un riff di chitarra di Balsamo. La voce diventa sempre più sintetica mentre le chitarre si mischiano ad un supplemento elettronico. Una traccia che si distingue perfettamente nel repertorio degli Evanescence.

Vivo per le canzoni rock. Con il cambio di line-up, credo che molte persone pensassero che sarebbe stato tutto sullo stile di My Immortal. Ma My Immortal era una canzone di Ben [Moody]! Avevo sempre cercato di metterci in una direzione più pazza. Canzoni come Weight of the World e Sweet Sacrifice e All That I'm Living For sono così belle per me per l'adrenalina. Specialmente quando le suoniamo live.

La canzone fu realizzata in Colombia come singolo radio, come annunciato in un articolo del 18 Ottobre 2007 .

C'è una versione radio per questa canzone. Qualcuno dice che c'è una versione altrernativa con una sezione acustica della canzone tolta. Potrebbe essere di un fan. Rimane ignota la cosa.
