I festival Rock am Ring e Rock im Park sono due festival di musica rock che si tengono contemporaneamente ogni anno. Mentre il Rock am Ring si svolge sul circuito automobilistico del Nürburgring, il Rock im Park si svolge allo Zeppelinfeld di Norimberga.

Entrambi i festival sono generalmente considerati come un unico evento con pressoché le stesse band ospitate. Tutti gli artisti si esibiscono un giorno a Mendig e un altro giorno a Norimberga durante i tre giorni dell'evento. Ci sono state piccole eccezioni negli ultimi anni in cui un artista sarebbe stato annunciato solo per uno dei festival. Insieme, Rock im Park e Rock am Ring sono i più grandi festival musicali tenutisi in Germania e uno dei più grandi al mondo con una partecipazione complessiva di oltre 150.000 persone nel 2007, registrando il tutto esaurito per entrambi gli eventi per la prima volta.

Gli Evanescence si esibirono per la prima volta a questo festival il sabato del 7 giugno 2003, durante il tour di Fallen. L'esibizione avvenne sul palco principale denominato Centerstage. L'intera performance fu registrata, trasmessa in televisione e resa disponibile online.

Gli Evanescence si esibirono nuovamente al festival il venerdì del 4 giugno 2004, durante il tour di Fallen. Inizialmente la band si sarebbe dovuta esibire come headline della giornata. Tuttavia Amy Lee si rifiutò lasciando il posto d'onore ai Korn in quanto grande fan della band. L'intera performance fu trasmessa in tv ed è disponibile online.
