Amy Lee e Deena Jakoub ai Flux Studios (New York) registrando I'll Never Be Ready.

I'll Never Be Ready è una ballad della band Veridia' che contiene la partecipazione di Amy Lee al piano.

I primi indizi di tale collaborazione trapelarono il 7 marzo 2018, quando i Veridia pubblicarono un post su Twitter nel quale si diceva che la cantante, Deena Jakoub, si stesse incontrando in quel momento a New York City con "un caro amico che sta registrando la parte al piano per una canzone molto speciale". Era già noto che Deena e Amy erano rimasti in buoni rapporti dall'ultima apparizione dei Veridia come band di apertura durante i tour degli Evanescence del 2015 e del 2016, quindi ciò ha fatto presupporre ai fan che questo "caro amico" fosse in realtà Amy. La conferma di tale collaborazione arrivò il giorno seguente quando Amy pubblicò una foto di lei e Deena insieme e il messaggio "Creando della bella musica insieme durante l'#internationalwomensday",. Poco tempo venne reso noto dai Veridia il nome stesso della canzone: I'll Never Be Ready.

La canzone vuole essere un tributo di Deena al padre, passato a miglior vita nel marzo del 2017:

There are times when I write a song and I am not entirely sure why I decided to tell that particular story... and then something transforming happens in my life that brings new depth and meaning to it.... sometimes painful, sometimes renewing, or a mix of indescribable emotion. I wrote this when I knew my Dad's illness was getting worse. I had no idea I would only have a little over 2 years left with him. Maybe this song was only for him, maybe it's only for me, maybe we'll release it one day. But, for now, I just want to share these words in honor of his genuine love and maybe some of you will find something in them that you needed.
