General information
Give Unto Me is an outtake from Evanescence EP. The instrumental version is the first track on their second EP, Sound Asleep EP. The third song ever written for Evanescence, Give Unto Me was written by Amy Lee originally as a piano ballad featuring some sound effects. Rolling Stone thought the song was "clearly Christian-themed".[1]
The song was aired on the radio KABF 88.3 FM in Little Rock, AR on August 9 and 16,[2][3] October 25,[4] and November 1, 1998.[5]
The Sound Asleep EP version is a re-produced instrumental synth track with musical themes from the original song. The end of this version has a similar Morse code effect to the one heard on the Origin version of "My Immortal" and the demo version of "Breathe No More".

Evanescence EP outtake version
I've been watching you from a distance
The distance sees through your disguise
All I want from you is your hurting
I want to heal you
I want to save you from the dark
Give unto me your troubles
I'll endure your suffering
Place onto me your burden
I'll drink your deadly poison
Why should I care if they hurt you
Somehow it matters more to me
Than if I were hurting myself
Save you [save you]
I'll save you
[Fear not the flame of my love's candle]
Give unto me your troubles
[Fear not the flame of my love's candle]
I'll endure your suffering
[Let it be the sun in your world of darkness]
Place onto me your burden
[Give unto me all that frightens you]
I'll drink your deadly poison
[I'll have your nightmares for you if you sleep soundly]
Give unto me your troubles
[Fear not the flame of my love's candle]
I'll endure your suffering
[Let it be the sun in your world of darkness]
Place onto me your burden
[Give unto me all that frightens you]
I'll drink your deadly poison
[I'll have your nightmares for you if you sleep soundly]
Fear not the flame of my love's candle
Let it be the sun in your world of darkness
