Anywhere is the eighth track from Evanescence's demo album, Origin. In an EvBoard interview, Moody called this among one of his least favorite songs. The story of Romeo and Juliet - as well as the Claire Danes/Leonardo DiCaprio movie version of it - is often regarded as the inspiration for this song.
In a Reddit AMA thread, Amy said that when she listens to the song, she pictures "a Renaissance fair date."[1]
The end of this track features a short 40-second sample from the end of Where Will You Go.
Original versions of Origin feature an Anywhere outtake in which David Hodges sings the chorus horridly. At the end of this outtake, there is a quote from the movie My Boyfriend's Back, "There's a lot of prejudice against the undead". The outtake can be accessed by rewinding the CD from the 30-second "Origin" intro that starts the album.
The version released on the Origin vinyl as part of The Ultimate Collection box set is the official version instead of the pre-release one.[2]
