General information
Written by: B. Moody, W. Boyd and M. Outlaw[1]
So Close (also incorrectly referred to as The Last Day) is the fifth track from Evanescence's first EP, Evanescence EP.
It's a joint effort song written by Will Boyd, Matt Outlaw and Ben Moody. Matt Outlaw performed on the drums for this song.[2]
This song is not originally of Evanescence, but for a band called So Close. However, when they disbanded, Evanescence covered it and put it on their EP. On Ben's BMI Repertoire, there is no song called So Close.
On September 15, 2019 a video of Evanescence performing back in 1998 was uploaded by Nick Williams, which includes the song So Close with Will Boyd singing the vocals. Watch the video here'.

Lyrics
I've spent so much time
Throwing rocks at your window
But I never even knocked
On your front door
I walk by statues
Never even made one chip
But if I could leave a mark
On the monument of your heart
I just might lay myself down
For a little more hope than I had
The last day
The last day
The last day
Wait a time
To spare these lies we tell ourselves
These days have come and gone
But this time it's sweeter than honey
