Hello is the ninth track on Evanescence's debut album, Fallen. The song was originally developed during the 2001-2002 demo sessions. It's one of the most personal songs ever written and released by Amy Lee, and is the only Fallen song that has never been performed live to date, despite consideration back in 2003 by Amy shortly after it was released.[1] However, a theme from the song was used in the beginning of a few live shows in 2003 as the intro to "Going Under". There is also a video of Amy singing it in her parents' house in 2004, which is the only recorded live version of the song.[2]
The song is about one of Amy's sisters, who passed away in 1987 at the age of three from an unidentified illness (this sister's name is known, but is not provided out of respect).[3]
This sister was later the inspiration for a second song, "Like You".

- ↑ This version was used as an intro in most of the 2003 live sets. This version featured only the cello solo of the bridge, mixed with a synthesizer sound on the background. The whole intro was a blend of parts of "Hello", "Imaginary", "Tourniquet" and "Whisper".
