General Information

Written by: A. Lee

Song written for The Open Door sessions, but missed the cut on the album.

Amy confirmed in an interview with evanescencewebsite.com that Together Again is The Narnia Song and was inspired by the movie. She says the song it about "leaving home knowing it may not be there when you return, and the attraction to something frightening and wonderful far away from there."[1] In the same interview, she also claims that the song remains unfinished as of now, but that it will be released someday. But according to EvanescenceVille, this song (along with If You Don't Mind) has been finished and officially published. It is stated on BMI.com.

From Metal Edge magazine, Amy says:

Vin1.jpg I wrote something else that was moody, dark and really cool, and the director wanted something that felt more hopeful. The song was about saying goodbye and moving on, and that’s what they’re doing in [the beginning of] the movie when they’re leaving their parents and going into some scary, unknown place. That’s how I wrote it, from their perspective. I thought the song was perfect. And it wasn’t like I put a bunch of guitars in it. I made stuff that was cool and vibey but was still haunting, and I think that’s the part they didn’t like. Vin2.jpg

There was speculation that the song was going to be released as a B-side on the Good Enough Single (Premium Maxi CD) but this turned out to be false.

This song was not cut up and used as the intro for Good Enough. It remained intact. Amy stated that "It is saved for a rainy day". Amy might have made this statement because according to her, she's happy on rainy days. It also inspires her to write more songs.

On January 22nd, 2010, Amy announced[2] on her Twitter account the release of the song to the public, after the Haiti earthquake events - "Today @Evanescence is releasing a new song, Together Again, and the proceeds are going to help Haiti! Details to follow!".

Lyrics

I never thought that I’d be leaving you today
So alone and wondering why I feel this way
So I go on… can love remember how to get me home to you someday?

We’ll be together again
Or just a dream in the end
We’ll be together again

So many fears were swimming around and around in my mind
Who would have dreamed the secrets we would find?
I found a world where love and dreams and darkness all collide
Maybe this time we can leave our broken world behind

We’ll be together again
Or just a dream in the end
