Described as a song about Amy's "plea for perspective from the expectation of young fans" by Evanescence.com.
The guitars take off whilst Amy’s voice gets lost between sampled mumbling and a guitar riff by Balsamo. The vocals get more and more synthetic whilst the guitars get mixed with an electronic supplement. A track that is very easily distinguished from Evanescence’s repertoire.

I live for the rock songs. With the line-up changing, I think a lot of people thought it would be more of the My Immortal stuff. But My Immortal was Ben [Moody]'s song! I was always trying to pull us in a crazier direction. Songs like Weight of the World and Sweet Sacrifice and All That I'm Living For are so amazing to me because of the adrenaline. Especially when we play them live. |

There is a radio version for this song. The radio version can be heard here:[1]. Some say that there is an alternative version with the acoustic section of the song taken out. It might be fan-made. This remains unknown.

According to the audio and the bio sections of the official website of Evanescence, the correct title of the song is Weight of the World (with small letters) and not Weight Of The World, as it can be supposed since it's a song title.[3]
