General Information
Written by: B. Moody, W. Boyd and M. Outlaw
Seldom referred to as The Last Day. Joint effort written by Will Boyd, Matt Outlaw and Ben Moody. Track #5 on the Evanescence EP. Matt Outlaw performed on the drums for this song.
Notice that Lithium (track 4 on The Open Door) has some similarites in its guitar part and the So Close intro could easily fit as an intro for the guitar of the Lithium verses.
Rumors said this song is not originally of Evanescence. According to them, this song was originally for a band called So Close, however when that band died, Evanescence covered it and put it on their EP (thread of The Fields of Innocence Board). On Ben's BMI Repertorie, there is no song called So Close.

Lyrics
I've spent so much time
Throwing rocks at your window
That I never even knocked
On your front door
I walk by statues
Never even made one chip
But if I could leave a mark
On the monument of your heart
I just might lay myself down
For a little more hope than I had
The last day
The last day
The last day
Wait a time
And spare these lies we tell ourselves
These days have come and gone
But this time it's sweeter than honey
