Hello
General Information
Written by: A. Lee, B. Moody, and D. Hodges
Developed during the 2001-2002 demos and later released as track #9 on Fallen. The most personal song ever written and released by Amy Lee and this is the only Fallen song that has never been performed live to date though the band considered doing it back in 2003.
The song is about the death of Amy's sister Bonnie, who died in 1987 at the age of three from an undisclosed illness.
There is a second song inspired by Bonnie on The Open Door titled Like You.
Subliminal Message
When played backwards, the part of the song "...I'm not sleeping, Hello, I'm still here..." very distinctly says "He hurts me all over. Hear me, it was not me." This is not intentional by the band, however it is the only phrase that can be heard when Evanescence's music is played in reverse. Lyrics
Playground school bell rings - again
Rain clouds come to play again
Has no one told you she's not breathing?
Hello, I'm your mind
Giving you someone to talk to
Hello
If I smile and don't - believe
Soon I know I'll wake from this dream
Don't try to fix me I'm not broken
Hello, I'm the lie
Living for you so you can hide
Don't cry
Suddenly I know I'm not sleeping
Hello, I'm still here
All that's left of yesterday
