Kelly Clarkson (born April 24, 1982) is an American singer, songwriter, actress, and author. She rose to fame in 2002 after winning the inaugural season of the television series American Idol, which earned her a record deal with RCA Records.
On her second album, Breakaway, former Evanescence members David Hodges and Ben Moody co-wrote the songs Because of You and Addicted. Rumors suggest that her song Behind These Hazel Eyes is about her break-up with David Hodges. According to MTV, the song was originally written prior to the break-up. Nonetheless, Clarkson decided to tweak the song lyrics after breaking up with him to express her emotional pain.[1]
Kelly is a fan of Evanescence. Whilst hosting a German video countdown show, she listed My Immortal as one of her favorite videos. She went to watch the band live at the War Memorial Auditorium in Nashville, Tennessee on August 17, 2011 and tweeted this: "New goal in life is to sing a duet with @amyleeev from Evanescence. Watching her in concert ....she is so intense, a beautiful vocalist, and has great taste in melodies and music. Wow. I've always liked her but wow, such a beautiful spirit and so great."[2] The two met for the first time that night.[3] Singer Ashley Arrison also attended the concert and tweeted a photo with them:
Kelly Clarkson "Vandalizes" Amy Lee's House
A video[4] exists that shows Kelly Clarkson, Ben Moody, David Hodges, and some other people toilet papering what is claimed to be Amy Lee's house (but really isn't). This video was staged as part of a planned (but not released) reality show/documentary.[5]
Amy talked about the video in an interview in January 2007:[6]
