Bring Me the Horizon (often abbreviated as BMTH) are a British rock band formed in Sheffield in 2004. The group consists of lead vocalist Oliver Sykes, guitarist Lee Malia, bassist Matt Kean, drummer Matt Nicholls and keyboardist Jordan Fish. They are signed to RCA Records globally and Columbia Records exclusively in the United States.

BMTH ripped off the melody of the verses in Evanescence's song "Never Go Back" on their song "Nihilist Blues" (featuring Grimes) off their sixth album, amo (2019).[1][2] Vocalist Oliver said in an interview that they ripped off the melody subconsciously, and claimed that Evanescence sued them. Then he clarified that the band never sued them and BMTH's management had only spoken with Evanescence's management, and Amy Lee did not ask for anything from BMTH.[3][4][5] BMTH offered Evanescence a co-writing credit on the song.[6] Oliver said that Evanescence's management told them that Amy likes the band and would like to work with them.[3]

Amy cleared up the misunderstanding:

It made me respect them more and go and listen to all their music which my drummer [Will Hunt] had already turned me onto earlier because he’s a big fan. That conversation ended with us saying we should collaborate sometime.”[4] Vin2.jpg

On November 6, 2020, they released a 13-minute documentary offering insights into the making of the aforementioned EP. It features input from Amy Lee explaining how she came to guest on the EP.[8]
