Together Again é uma música escrita para o álbum The Open Door, mas que acabou ficando de fora na finalização.
Amy confirmou em uma entrevista ao evanescencewebsite.com que Together Again é a música de Nárnia e foi inspirada pelo filme. Ela disse que a música é sobre "deixar o seu lar sabendo que talvez ele não esteja mais lá quando você retornar, e a atração por algo assustador e maravilhoso longe daqui."
No dia 22 de janeiro de 2010, Amy anunciou no Twitter o lançamento da música, após o terremoto que houve no Haiti:
"Hoje o @Evanescence está lançando uma nova música, Together Again, e a arrecadação será destinada para ajudar o Haiti! Detalhes a seguir!".
No EvClub, a Amy explicou o motivo de terem lançado a música:
"[...] Então, (expiração profunda de libertação emocional) sobre a música - como muitos de vocês sabem, "Together Again" é uma música escrita durante a era The Open Door. Eu sempre amei essa música e queria encontrar o lugar perfeito para ela. Não era no filme de Nárnia, também não pertencia a The Open Door, e também a todas as outras oportunidades que surgiram no caminho ela também não pertencia. A gravação que vocês estão ouvindo foi feita em 2005-6 junto com o resto do álbum. Uma semana atrás (alguns dias depois de termos ouvido sobre os acontecimentos recentes no Haiti) Josh acordou (antes de mim como sempre) e me disse que ele achava que talvez esse fosse o lugar onde a música pertencia. Evanescence shared a teaser video with the caption "Tomorrow...". It shows an 80s style arcade machine with "Afterlife" written on it, and silhouettes of British synthwave band, Gunship. The video includes the spoken words: "Our deepest intentions cut through like a knife. Unspoken yet resounding. See you in the afterlife."
