Since the end of the bands tour for the The Open Door there had been speculation when Evanescence would be releasing their next album.Early official announcements were made in regards to a followup to 2006's The Open Door where Amy herself had noted that she has begun writing material and the third album was expected sometime in 2010.

I don't see the point in making the same record twice, so I always want to challenge myself to make something better, stronger, and more interesting than before. I don't want to give away too much about what it will sound like, because so much will change before the end, but its... not what you would expect. Its definitely not happy married music, but its not like I'm dying the whole time either. Its dark, sarcastic, fun, strange, familiar and very different at the same time. |
