For the demo cassette tape, see Childish Intentions (demo cassette).

Childish Intentions was one of the former names of Evanescence before Amy Lee and Ben Moody decided on the name Evanescence. Stricken was another name previously considered.[1]

Amy was asked about the subject on EvThreads and responded:

Vin1.jpg I had my brother and sisters make a list of band name ideas while we were thinking about it, cause who knows! A kid might come up with something genius. My favorite was one my brother came up with, the suffocating wolves. And my sis wanted the levitating penguins, that was a real contender.[2] Vin2.jpg

In the '90s, Ben and Amy recorded a cassette tape under the Childish Intentions name with the tracks "Solitude", "Understanding", and untitled "Track 3."[3]
