The "Bring Me to Life" single was commercially released worldwide on April 22, 2003.[1] Prior to that—in late 2002—the song was released along with "My Immortal" on the Daredevil soundtrack and received radio airplay.[2] The soundtrack release springboarded Evanescence's music into the public's eye for the first time on an international scale. Wind-up did a fantastic job promoting the single by saturating the market with albums, images and the music video. As evident by the sheer number of single releases, this was—and still remains—Evanescence's biggest single. "Bring Me to Life" has been certified Gold and Platinum in many countries.[3][4][5]

From a collector's standpoint, finding most releases isn't all too difficult. It is still possible to find the standard UK single brand new in stores almost 5 years after its release. This single saw the only release in a cassette format for a non-Asian country.

The cover image is actually 3 photos combined, all by Frank Veronsky. The leftmost photo is the same as the back of Fallen, the center is Fallen's cover and the right image is the photo from the back page of Fallen's booklet. The black Daredevil releases also feature a three-photo collage with Ben, Amy and David in the only promotional photo that the band released pre-Fallen since Origin. The photo is uncredited.

  • This DVD is in PAL format and is Region 2 (UK only).
  • The interactive menus feature blue sparkly logos and elaborate snow effects. The logos are the older version of the 'Evanescence' logo that appears rougher and has the 'sparkle' between the 'a' and the 'n', instead of between the 'n' and the 'e' (see Fonts and Logos)
  • An extensive photo gallery is also featured within the bonus material of the DVD.

UK cassette single

Status: Out of Print
Label: Wind-up/Epic
Cat.no: 673976 4

  1. "Bring Me to Life" [Album version] (3:56)
  2. "Farther Away" [Album version] (3:58)
  3. "Bring Me to Life" [Bliss mix] (3:59)
  • This is the only single by Evanescence to be released in the MC, or cassette tape format. Produced and sold exclusively in the UK. It is very limited; maybe only a few hundred or so were ever produced and only the one seen in the past few years is the one that appears in the scans (below).
  • The cassette comes in a thin cardboard sleeve without the standard plastic cassette case.
  • Both A and B sides of the tape play the same.

*please note that these scans were altered/re-touched because the cassette single was in poor condition when purchased. Only minor enhancements were performed to fill-in a tear on the front and back of the case.

European Daredevil radio promo

Status: Out of Print
Label: Wind-up/Epic
Cat.no: SAMPCS 12382 1

  1. "Bring Me to Life" (3:58)
  • This radio promo disc from late 2002 is highly valued by collectors because it symbolizes the springboard that the film provided for Evanescence.
  • This is the only release from Wind-up Records that uses the old Evanescence logo.
  • David Hodges is shown on the front cover (to the right of Amy) in his only promotional shot with the band since Origin.

Japanese Daredevil radio promo

Status: Out of Print
Label: Epic
Cat.no: none

  1. "Bring Me to Life" (3:58)
  • This is a promotional 'Acetate' CD that was released in Japan to radio stations. The disc itself is a blue polycarbonate CD-R.
  • It features an elaborate insert with a Japanese text biography that outlines how Ben and Amy met and their first recordings (notably mentioning "Understanding" and Origin).
  • It also features track information as well as a short synopsis of the movie Daredevil featuring sections about the story, the cast and "The New Hero".
  • This disc appears to have been released after the standard Daredevil promo, because it features (on the inside of the insert) the modern Evanescence Logo as well as the title "Bring Me to Life" in the evanescent font.

US radio promo

Status: Out of Print
Label: Wind-up
Cat.no: WUJC200352(R)

US promo disc. There was a Daredevil version (cat.no WUJC200352) produced before the release of Fallen and a blue version (cat.no WUJC200352R) reissued after the release of Fallen. Although they can be quite rare, they no longer fetch the $1000 price tag that they used to. The re-issue often doesn't sell for more than $100 anymore.

  1. "Bring Me to Life" (3:58)
  • Both are in a regular jewel case with a front picture insert and a tray insert containing the song information.
