Charity auction held by GOTTA HAVE IT!® Auctions and UGG® Australia. During this event, several artists designed a pair of UGG and then sold them online.
Amy's Participation in 2004
Amy Lee participated in the second edition of this event. The auction started on November 6th and it ended on December 1st, 2004. More than 30 artists participated by designing, making, and autographing a pair of UGG boots. These boots were auctioned online on Gottahaveit.com. Some of the participating artists included Jay-Z, Lenny Kravitz, The Black Eyed Peas, Avril Lavigne, Hanson, Jessica Simpson, Janet Jackson, and Alanis Morissette.
All the funds collected from this event went to the "VH1's Save The Music Foundation", a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of education on American public schools by restoring musical programs in several cities around the country and by sensitizing public opinion about the importance of music education and participation for American students. For this event, the "VH1 Top 20 Video Contdown" was aired from November 6th, 7th, and 9th. During this show, this charity event was announced.
This is what Amy said regarding the event:
Its funny, everytime I finish one of these things I'm like, 'Rats I really want to keep this now!' Anyone ever see that pair of Ugs I did a few years ago? I collected about a million little care bears, beanies, legos and whatever else, then sewed and glued them all over the surface of those things. They were like giant transformer feet. I loved those! Amy's Uggs were sold for 400$ according to an EvBoard discussion. [2]
