Ben left the band in October 2003 after creative differences caused a rift between he and Amy. The two are reported to have been in a relationship sometime in the past, and this relationship is actually what inspired most of the songs in Evanescence's pre-2003 repertoire (see Going Under). In the past, Amy would only say that the songs were about an "abusive relationship" with an un-named person.
It is decidedly upbeat and showcases an Amy Lee that is letting someone in and who sounds happily in love. She thinks it is the bravest track on the album.

The End Has Come on the Punisher Soundtrack, Nobody’s Home on Avril Lavigne’s Under My Skin, Kelly Clarkson’s Breakaway (with David Hodges), the Blank Theory’s next album (supposedly  with Dave Fortman), and a project with David Hodges that had been rumored to be on the new Passion of the Christ soundtrack featuring Wind-up artists called Only Human, Only God, but had never been released. He plans to release an album on Wind-up Records, that had the tentative release date as March 27, 2007, although the project has been delayed indefinitely. The album has to date been known as Can't Regret What You Can't Remember. (more...)

Good Enough

'Good Enough' is Evanescence's eighth major single. Described as "a string-and-choir-infused closer distinguished as the band's first truly (almost) contented song" by Evanescence.com, the song is reminiscent of the piano ballad Give Unto Me in it's purest form.

It is decidedly upbeat and showcases an Amy Lee that is letting someone in and who sounds happily in love. She thinks it is the bravest track on the album.

Amy's describes:

"It’s totally scary to be so vulnerable when I know however many metalheads are going to diss it because it’s not the exact same thing [as the other songs],” Lee says. “And it doesn’t end with, ‘And then he died’ or ‘I pushed him off a cliff’ or ‘He’s a ghost really.’ It’s so cool to me and weird to me. I’ve never written a happy song, ever."

You have to be really brave and strong about it. After doing that, I felt so amazing. For the first time I felt like I could write a song based on how good I felt.
