No official announcements have been made in regards to a followup to 2006's The Open Door. Amy herself has noted that she has begun writing material, though she has not said what for.

I need to show that I’m more than a one trick pony. I'm writing here at the house by myself and it's been really good. But I'd really like to do something different next. [The new songs] are definitely different. I feel like I'm going back to my really old roots. They have more of my folky and Celtic influence than ever before. And it's not all sad -- it's nothing I would categorize as Evanescence. |

A new song titled Your Love was performed acoustically for an episode of "Legends and Lyrics" expected to air around September-October 2009. It is unknown whether it will be released independently of the Evanescence project or not. There are rumors that Amy's next project will be a solo endeavor—these are simply speculation, however, as no information has been released aside from the aforementioned spin.com interview.
