Purple Rain è il primo album da studio del gruppo statunitense Prince and The Revolution, pubblicato nel 1984 dalla Warner Bros. Records. È il sesto album della carriera di Prince. È la colonna sonora dell'omonimo film. Purple Rain è quasi sempre annoverato nelle classifiche di musica rock. In tutto il mondo l'album ha totalizzato una vendita di oltre 20 milioni di copie. Gli Evanescence ne fecero la cover durante dei concerti del 2016, qualche tempo dopo la morte di Prince, come omaggio alla sua carriera.
