David Campbell composed the string arrangements for both Fallen and [[The Open Door]. He also performed My Immortal with Evanescence at the 2004 Billboard Awards.

He is a Canadian-born music arranger, composer and conductor who has been featured on many popular albums. He was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and has three children: musician Beck, artist Channing, and singer/song writer Alyssa Campbell (who also sang with the choir on The Open Door).

He has worked with Alanis Morissette, 10,000 Maniacs, Phil Collins, Michael Jackson, Bon Jovi, Mariah Carey, Kelly Clarkson, Elton John, Kiss, Duran Duran, Leonard Cohen, Stevie Nicks, Eric Clapton, Rod Stewart, Hole, Ayumi Hamasaki, Sum 41, Linkin Park, Evanescence, Avril Lavigne, Will Smith, Fort Minor, Faith Hill, Liz Phair, Lindsey Buckingham, Jimmie Spheeris and numerous other musicians. He has produced more than 400 gold and platinum Albums. Campbell is a prominent member of the Church of Scientology.
