Ok, first off, if Ben Moody said that, then why does it keep saying he? I find it more likely that Amy said it about Ben rather than Ben was hard on himself.

Secondly, do we have any other source for this rumor besides a defunct message board and a bunch of fan pages? You, know, like Amy actually saying something on the evboard? Or in a magazine? Or anything?

Everyone sources the same source, and conveniently enough it is dead.--Teddywithfangs 22:07, 9 December 2006 (PST)

The "he" referenced in the Ben Moody post is Brad Caviness of Bigwig Enterprises. I obtained this information from Gabe Harrell, the original webmaster of the Exodus Evanescence site. It can also be corroborated by a Google search.
See: Comment by Insane_Cranium_Dude on Leo's Lyric Database (captured image of page) and "Forbidden" Evanescence song? thread on snopes.com (captured image of page).
I also updated the main article to help explain why we do not have a link to the original source of the information. --DhammaSeeker 20:40, 10 December 2006 (PST)
A thread full of various theories does not prove any one true.
All I see are a bunch of "she saids" with no real quotes, which makes it all heresay. Posting "I heard, I heard" everywhere does not make a fact be; if Amy isn't saying anything, why are "fans" so eager to put words in her mouth?
And it's easy to coorborate a lie; how many sites are there saying there was no moon landing or Holocaust?
Google searches prove nothing. Or would you rather believe Hitler and Evanescence have a tie? A Google search for Hitler + Evanscence yields 203,000 hits. [1]
I just think it's a big to-do about nothing. The only ones making a big deal about it are the ones looking for reasons to discriminate against other Evanescence fans. What's the point?--Teddywithfangs 20:30, 11 December 2006 (PST)
Ben Moody made the request in 2003 that the song 'You' not be downloaded by fans. Since that time, no contradictory request has been made from him or any other member of Evanescence. Teddywithfangs, you're free to believe and do what you want on your own time and property, but there will be no sanctioned discussion of that song on any Evanescence site I'm operating. --DhammaSeeker 19:02, 12 December 2006 (PST)
