Amy confirmed in an interview with evanescencewebsite.com that Together Again is [[The Narnia Song]] and was inspired by the movie. She says the song is about "leaving home knowing it may not be there when you return, and the attraction to something frightening and wonderful far away from there."
 
On January 22nd, 2010, Amy announced on her Twitter account the release of the song to the public, after the Haiti earthquake events:
 
"Today @Evanescence is releasing a new song, Together Again, and the proceeds are going to help Haiti! Details to follow!".
 
On EvClub Amy explains the reason of publishing the song:
