Heart-Shaped Box is a song by the American rock band Nirvana, written by vocalist and guitarist Kurt Cobain. It was released as the lead single from Nirvana's third and final studio album, In Utero, in August 1993, and appears as the third track.
Evanescence covered the song at live shows early in 2003, and an acoustic performance was recorded at WXDX, an alternative radio station in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and was included on the Going Under single.
