Solstice è il nome della band della sorella di Amy Lee, Lori Lee. La band si è formata quando Dylan Bulloch e Lori avevano solo 13 anni e avevano incominciato a scivere musica insieme. Il nome della band in origine era "Plainsong" che fu sostituito in seguito ad una votazione, ideata dalla band stessa, dei fan. Le opzioni erano: Fiero, Solstice, Equinox, Watership Down, Clockwork.
L'11 settembre del 2007, i "Plainsong" cambiano il nome in "Solstice".
