I The Used sono un gruppo emo formatosi nel 1994 a Orem nello Utah. Hanno pubblicato il loro omonimo album di debutto nel giugno del 2002. Questa band ha sostituito gli Evanescence al KROQ Weenie Roast di Los Angeles nell'estate del 2003 a causa di un malessere di Ben Moody.
Bert McCracken, il cantante dei The Used, ha dichiarato ciò che segue su un articolo di MTV:

Evan-offense, com'è che si chiama la band? Sucka-essence [si beffa McCracken]. Comunque, questa band di merda che pareva dovesse [esibirsi] ha annullato, così noi abbiamo preso il loro posto ed è andata molto meglio.[1] |

I The Used sono tornati a far da spalla agli Evanescence durante il loro tour del 2012 nel Regno Unito[2][3].
