Sex Type Thing fu il singolo di debutto pubblicato dalla rock band Stone Temple Pilots nel 1992 sul loro album di debutto Core. Gli Evanescence ne hanno fatto una cover realizzata il 31 dicembre del 2002 durante il New Year’s Eve concert al Nitelife Rocks (un nightclub di Little Rock).

Questa canzone non tratta, come suggerisce il titolo, del sesso. Riguarda invece il controllo, la violenza e l'abuso di potere.
