A Perfect Rip of an audio CD means that the music tracks have been copied and verified using a specific program and saved as a mathematically lossless file (such as .wav or .flac). All Perfect Rip downloads on The Evanescence Reference were created using a program called Exact Audio Copy and encoded into FLAC (Free Lossless Audio Codec) to preserve perfect quality while reducing file size. For information on playing, burning and using FLAC files, please visit http://www.flac.org.

The following albums are available as a Perfect Rip download because they were never copyright protected:

Fallen, Anywhere but Home, The Open Door and any other commercially released material such as single are not available because it would violate copyright law.
