'''David Hodges''' was formerly the keyboard/piano player for Evanescence. Joined in 1999 and left in December 2002, just 4 months before Fallen was released. Responsible for most of the string arrangements on [[Fallen]]. Collaborated with [[Amy Lee]] on [[Breathe]] and [[Fall Into You]]. Currently in the band [[Trading Yesterday]]. Trading Yesterday released The Beauty and The Tragedy in June 2004. The band was signed to Epic Records in the summer of 2004 but ended up parting ways with the label in 2005. The band's album 'More Than This' was shelved permanently and will never be officially released. 'More Than This' could be downloaded through the internet starting in December 2006.

David also used to date the original American Idol winner, Kelly Clarkson.

:Indeed, I have a recording of the Juanita's show and Whisper was deffinitely played acoustically. The only thing close to an acoustic version I've ever heard of Haunted is the Sessions @ AOL version, but that was the full band 'live version.' Good Enough certainly does belong here, though. '''Ben Moody''' (born January 22, 1981, in Little Rock, Arkansas as ''Ben Robert Moody III'') was formerly the lead guitarist for Evanescence from 1996 to October 2003. It all started when he saw Amy playing Meatloaf's ''I Would Do Anything For Love'' at a Christian youth summer camp. The two became friends, and the rest is rock music history. Wrote many of the most popular [[Evanescence]] songs including [[My Immortal]]. His father is a prominent photographer in the Little Rock area.

Ben left the band in October 2003 after creative differences caused a rift between he and Amy. The two are reported to have been in a relationship sometime in the past, and this relationship is actually what inspired most of the songs in Evanescence's pre-2003 repertoire (see [[Going Under]]). In the past, Amy would only say that the songs were about an "abusive relationship" with an un-named person.

He has worked or is working on many different projects post-Evanescence. ''The End Has Come'' on the Punisher Soundtrack, ''Nobody’s Home'' on Avril Lavigne’s '''''Under My Skin''''', Kelly Clarkson’s ''Breakaway (with [[David Hodges]])'', the Blank Theory’s next album (supposedly with [[Dave Fortman]]), and a project with [[David Hodges]] that had been rumored to be on the new Passion of the Christ soundtrack featuring Wind-up artists called [[Only Human, Only God]], but had never been released. He plans to release an album on Wind-up Records, and the release date is March 27, 2007. The album has to date been known as Can't Regret What You Can't Remember.

Ben Moody's favorite drink is Dr Pepper.

Name of the EP (also referred to as the Whisper EP) released in August, 1999 on CD-R. Features an early version of [[Whisper]] and two versions of [[Understanding]]. Limited edition of 50 copies. Was released by the band with help from Bigwig Enterprises. It was released with no artwork.

This is supposedly the last place that the band will release "Understanding" in any version. The picture is of Nate Gray's personal, signed copy of the EP.

The song was originally written for the movie [[The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch & the Wardrobe]], but was scrapped by the director. "I thought it would be awesome for the opening scene, but they wanted something original," says Lee of the Mozart cover. A 22-cord orchestra led by Dave Campbell (with whom Evanescence had already worked for their performance at the Billboard Awards 2004) starts off the song in order to introduce a choir, which serves as back up for Amy’s vocals.

"Dave Campbell is an enormous inspiration source for me," says Amy. "He’s so talented. The way he arranges orchestral parts is remarkable. It's the element of our music that makes me cry!"

Terry's guitar solo in the middle of the song adds to its sheer epic sound before the choir closes with a stunning decrescendo.

Directed by [[Paul Fedor]], the video features two Amys, one in the water (assuming the "sadness" role) in a black dress singing to her alter ego in white (assuming the "happiness" role) who, through a process of internal torment, conquers her sadness. The video also features prominent shots of the rest of the band, including new member [[Tim McCord]], all dressed in black.

Shot in L.A. in late October of 2006, and released some time late in November. The video leaked on Thursday, November 23 (Thanksgiving). Due to unknown issues—apparently caused by the label—the video was released internationally late in November, however the US had to wait almost 2 weeks for stations to start playing it.

Alright [[User:Whisperer|Whisperer]], you and me to the death! :) I think the words near the end of the song are "stay in love mmhmm," while you think they are "I want to stay in love with me." I'm basing my opinion on what I hear on TOD and the length of time she has to sing the words. The number of words you have listed would have to be sung quite fast to fit in this space in the song. The setting of the song is so off-kilter, it basically arrests you from the first listen. It's violating. I'm not trying to say that this song is based on a rape attempt, but the way the subject is discussed, it's very carnal ("all your hands on me/I can't scream", "undress in the dark and hide from you", "now I have you", "there's nowhere to run so let's just get it over") and there are a lot of references to the human body, in addition to a chord progression that's flat-out VIOLATING. As she approaches an obviously deserted large house with a sinister demeanor, her attention moves from the ball to the house. Not paying attention to her bouncing, the ball hits the curb and ricochets toward the house. As she chases the little red ball toward the house, the ball picks up unnatural momentum and bounces right into the huge gaping front door. The little girl pauses for a moment, looks up at the house, which now appears to be staring down at her, and cautiously enters the house in search of her little red ball. as she slowly walks into the atrium, she surveys the decaying mess that once was obviously a beautiful mansion. She becomes mesmerized by the exquisite detail of every inch of the banister winding up the seemingly endless staircase in front of her. Suddenly her thoughts are broken by a horrifying commotion. She whips around to run out the front door, but finds only a blank wall where the door once stood. Frightened, she runs down the first hallway she sees, trying desperately to find a way out, but with every turn the world behind her changes, bending to the will of the house, so that even finding a path back to the atrium where she began becomes impossible. Terrified, the little girl sinks into a corner, puts her head in her hands, and weeps.
 
10 years later....
 
The little girl wakes up in a panic, now a young woman. Dirty, scarred. She's now clothed in black pants, work boots, and a black wife beater. Her skin is pale and dirty. Sun has not graced her flesh in over a decade. She wakes to find a meal placed on a dirty silver tray before her, just enough to sustain life, just like every morning before. Placed there by a figure she can only see in passing, around a corner, walking through a door.... a figure that has become her only friend, and her only hate. Her entire existence has become nothing but to hunt and destroy this shadow that keeps her here. As she hunts him relentlessly day after day, she becomes lost in the dichotomy of her being. This thing that keeps her here, this person that repeatedly rapes her mind and watches her when she sleeps, has become her only friend. For is this person left, she would cease to exist. For she live only to kill him. But lives only FOR him. Every day the house changes around her, so that every day she wakes in a foreign land. The only constant... is him. She hears his heart beating, she smells him, she can only think of finding him, but he is also the only thing she knows of love.</blockquote>

One of the most popular songs ever recorded by the band. This song lasts the entire span of Evanescence’s recording history. It is credited as the 4th song ever written for Evanescence. Ben Moody wrote the original in full when he was 15 years old. It is the second song that he wrote for the band ([[Understanding]] is credited as his first). In the later versions of the song, Amy Lee is credited to have written the bridge and the coinciding piano part to the song. There are seven different recorded versions of the song. The [[Fallen]] version of the song has strings by composer Graeme Revell.

Until near the end of 2002, the [[Fallen]] version was played live. They then began playing the 'Band' version, which later became the version they released as a single. When performed live, Amy is playing the piano herself, but the notes are changed into a much simpler melody, probably to avoid mistakes during live playing. Amy has stated she hates the song because she can never really relate to the song (and that you can notice that when performed live), since it is not her's and not based on real events.

The song has many different interpretations. Ben wrote a short story before writing the lyrics to the song. According to Ben, the song is about a spirit staying with you after its death and haunting you until you actually wish that the spirit were gone because it won't leave you alone. Ben dedicated the song along with the Fallen album to his grandfather. The song peaked at #2 on the pop chart just behind Britney Spears’ Toxic, and was #1 on the Hot Adult Contemporary chart for 3 weeks.

The band version of My Immortal is [[Ben Moody]]'s last recording with Evanescence before his departure in October of 2003.

This song was nominated for Best Pop Vocal Performance by Duo or Group for the 47th Annual Grammy Awards.

The video was directed by David Mouldy and was filmed in Barcelona, Spain. It touches upon the theme of solitude and loneliness. Amy never touches the floor in the video, because she is a ghost. The video was filmed 2 weeks before [[Ben Moody]] walked away. 

In a comment on [[EvBoard]], Amy said that her hair in the video is very similar to the way her hair is naturally (she straightens it normally)

The video, directed by [[Philip Stolzl]], is a live action video that portrays the life of a glamorous superstar (played by Amy Lee) who is really unhappy with the way she portrays herself in the media. She sells Lies consumer products (perfume, pizza, energy drink, and a little doll). Towards the end of the video she expresses deep regret for selling Lies in the first place.

The video was filmed in Los Angeles in mid-April 2004. It quickly became a fan favorite.

Amy Lee became inspired to write the song after an incident that occurred while she was sitting in a restaurant. "I was inspired to write it when someone said something to me — I didn’t know him, and I thought he might be clairvoyant," says Lee from a tour stop in Tulsa. "I was in a relationship and I was completely unhappy. But I was hiding it. I was being completely abused and I was trying to cover it up; I wouldn’t even admit it to myself. So then I had spoken maybe 10 or 15 words to this guy, who was a friend of a friend. We were waiting for everyone else to show up, and we went into a restaurant and got a table. And he looked at me and said, ‘Are you happy?’ And I felt my heart leap, and I was like, he totally knows what I’m thinking. And I lied, I said I was fine. Anyway, he’s not really clairvoyant. It was the second single off of the [[Daredevil Soundtrack]] (Fuel’s Wont Back Down was first) and the first single off of [[Fallen]]. The song features [[Paul McCoy]], the lead singer of 12 Stones.

The song was originally intended to be without the male vocals when Wind-up felt that it was best to put a male vocalist into the song for the Daredevil soundtrack. The version that featured Paul McCoy stuck.

In a magazine interview, Chester Bennington of [[Linkin Park]] said that Mike Shinoda was originally asked to be featured on the song. Linkin Park was recording Meteora in the same studio that Evanescence was recording Fallen.

The video is a live performance/action video and was directed by Philip Stolzl. The video was filmed in Romania in January 2003. It features Amy in a night gown and barefoot, in her room, inside a tall building in the city at night. The rest of the band, and Paul McCoy, are playing on a higher floor of the building. She climbs out of the window of her room and begins to climb the building, passing many windows while venturing to the window that featured the room with the band and McCoy. Right before the bridge of the song featuring a duet with both McCoy and Lee, Lee ends up falling off the building but managing to hang on to the ledge that she was standing on. McCoy pulls open the window and tries to save her, but can't, and amy falls off the building. At the very end of the video, we see Lee back in bed again: it was all a nightmare. This is symbolic because it features someone trying to find someone that will 'wake her and save her'.

The video gained huge popularity in 2003 and clips of it were featured everywhere, including MTV's '''Big Urban Myth Show''' where clips of amy waking up and walking around outside on the ledge were prominently featured on any and all sleep related myths.

The video is a live performance/action video and was directed by Philip Stolzl. The video was filmed in Romania in January 2003. It features Amy in a night gown and barefoot, in her room, inside a tall building in the city at night. The rest of the band, and Paul McCoy, are playing on a higher floor of the building. She climbs out of the window of her room and begins to climb the building, passing many windows while venturing to the window that featured the room with the band and McCoy. Right before the bridge of the song featuring a duet with both McCoy and Lee, Lee ends up falling off the building but managing to hang on to the ledge that she was standing on. McCoy pulls open the window and tries to save her, but can't, and amy falls off the building. At the very end of the video, we see Lee back in bed again: it was all a nightmare. This is symbolic because it features someone trying to find someone that will 'wake her and save her'.

The video gained huge popularity in 2003 and clips of it were featured everywhere, including MTV's '''Big Urban Myth Show''' where clips of amy waking up and walking around outside on the ledge were prominently featured on any and all sleep related myths.
