Amy Lee says that this song is about loving someone so much that you'd bring them back from the dead. 1 of 5 pre-''[[Fallen]]'' songs to ever be played on radio (The other four are "[[Lies]]", "[[Understanding]]", a demo version of "[[Whisper]]" and "[[Give Unto Me]]"). This song and "[[Understanding]]" are the only pre-''Fallen'' songs ever performed live on radio. "Even in Death" was also played live during the band's Fallen Tour.<ref name=metalmaiden />

Davids's backvocals can be heard at the chorus, behind the guitars and Amy's voice. The intro uses a sample from White Zombie's "Ratfinks, Suicide Tanks and Cannibal Girls", which was released four years prior.<ref name="ratfinks" group=note /> The same sample was also used later in "[[Snow White Queen]]". Part of the Ultimate Collection will be a new/old song, “Even in Death,” which Lee explains is actually her way of embracing her musical past. “I looked through Origin for the first time in many years this year, through this experience, and that song has always been one that has a good heart and I still like the lyrics,” she says. “[But] our old recording of it is really bad, it’s us as kids with whatever we can find to record with. I think that’s the hardest part for me. You can always redo production but lyrics are lyrics; if the lyrics are dumb, I just can’t get my head around enjoying it. And I think that ‘Even in Death’ has some beautiful lyrics that actually are very much in the art and vision of what Evanescence grew into. So I took that song and redid it with my collaborator friend Dave Egger, on cello, in New York, and we made this really different version that I love. Even in Death was inserted in the 25th volume of The 7ball Gas Collection CD, which follows a magazine of the same name, whose focus is to advertise and promote bands with Christian backgrounds. It is important to remember that until the release of Fallen, Evanescence was continuously mistaken for a Christian band.

This CD features the same version of the song from Origin under the note "-SOMEBODY SIGN THESE GUYS-" alongside with another band which also didn't have a record label contract.

This magazine's issue was released in May/2001 and is, up to now, the only place where Even in Death was officially released.

Some very experimental vocal work is heard throughout. This is also the song with the longest title.

This was the first post-Fallen song to be heard about. A website which no longer exists, published on 2004 a note about the upcoming Evanescence's album, which probably could be named "Frozen". Anyway, in the note it said that there would be a song about Ben called "The Last Song I'm Wasting On You".

The song was released as a bonus track on iTunes when [[The Open Door]] album was released (the album had to be pre-ordered from the website) and soon spread around the Internet. The song was also released as a B-side on the [[Lithium Single]].

She explained how many nights she was forced to stay in hotels, because a stalker was erm...stalking her. She took the title from EvBoard, as her username is "Snow White". The word "Queen" was presumabely added because of what the attention the stalker made her feel like.

The setting of the song is so off-kilter, it basically arrests you from the first listen. It's violating. It's like the narrator is talking to the attacker, and the attacker is attempting to justify their actions in the chorus ("soon I know you'll see you're just like me."), either to the narrator or to themselves as they attempt to commit the crime.

I'm not trying to say that this song is based on a rape attempt, but the way the subject is discussed, it's very carnal ("all your hands on me/I can't scream", "undress in the dark and hide from you", "now I have you", "there's nowhere to run so let's just get it over") and there are a lot of references to the human body, in addition to a chord progression that's flat-out VIOLATING. You can't listen to this song without feeling at least a little disturbed.

Album released on November 4th, 2000 in Little Rock. Many different Origins exist, but there’s only one true tracklisting. Only 2500 real copies were made. Origin sold out in February 2003. Real and fake copies are bought on EBay for upwards of $300. Amy Lee does not consider this an album, but rather a collection of demos that they "dressed up" to send to different major labels. 
The album contains early versions of songs found on Fallen ([[My Immortal]], [[Imaginary]], [[Whisper]]).

The original release contained a hidden track, which is located before the first track (you have to rewind (while hearing what you are rewinding) the first song and reach -0:24 (minus, yeah) approximately, to hear it). ==Fake "Re-Release"==
In 2003, a "re-release" of Origin came out supposedly under the label 'Epic'. It contained most of the tracks from the real Origin, however with some tracks, different versions were used. In the case of [[Whisper]] and [[My Immortal]], the [[Fallen]] album version was used.

The audio portion of the CD was very poorly produced, and in most cases, the songs were either corrupted or of low quality (as if downloaded as an MP3 and then burned on the CD). This bootleg has very elaborate and professional looking artwork, with a silkscreened, factory pressed CD and a fold out booklet with a small biography (which mostly rambles on about the 'Christian band' controversy).

The CD contained 'Bonus Tracks' such as [[Missing]] (which was very corrupted and of extremely low quality), the Nirvanna cover 'Heart Shaped Box', and a [rather bad] trance remix of [[Bring Me To Life]].

One of the most popular songs ever recorded by the band. This song lasts the entire span of Evanescence’s recording history. It is credited as the 4th song ever written for Evanescence. Ben Moody wrote the original in full when he was 15 years old. It is the second song that he wrote for the band (Understanding is credited as his first). In the later versions of the song, Amy Lee is credited to have written the bridge and the coinciding piano part to the song. There are seven different recorded versions of the song. The Fallen version of the song has strings by composer Graeme Revell. Until the almost end of 2002, the Fallen version was played live and after that they played the 'Band' version, which later became the version they released as a single. When performed live, Amy is playing the piano herself, but the notes are changed into a much simpler melody, probably to avoid mistakes during live playing. Amy said she can never really relate to the song (and that you can notice that when performed live), since it is not hers and not based on real occurances. 
 
The song has many different interpretations. Ben wrote a short story before writing the lyrics to the song. The song according to Ben is about a spirit staying with you after its death and haunting you until you actually wish that the spirit were gone because it won't leave you alone. Ben dedicated the song along with the Fallen album to his grandfather. The song peaked at #2 on the pop chart just behind Britney Spears’ Toxic, and was #1 on the Hot Adult Contemporary chart for 3 weeks. 
 
The video was directed by David Mouldy and was filmed in Barcelona, Spain. The video touches upon the theme of solitude and loneliness. Amy never touches the floor in the video, because she is a ghost. The video was filmed 2 weeks before Ben Moody walked away. 
 
The band version of My Immortal is Ben Moody's last recording with Evanescence before his departure in October of 2003. 
 
This song has been nominated for Best Pop Vocal Performance by Duo or Group for the 47th Annual Grammy Awards.

The most personal on The Open Door is “Like You”. “It is about something that’s hard to even talk about but feels good to write about,” explains Lee. “It’s about my sister who passed away when I was a little girl. The most personal on The Open Door is “Like You”. “It is about something that’s hard to even talk about but feels good to write about,” explains Lee. “It’s about my sister who passed away when I was a little girl. I was six years old and she was three. It’s affected my life and definitely affected my music writing, and it’s made me who I am. It’s one of those things that happens early enough in life that it forms you. I think in a lot of ways I made it a thing that I can use in a positive way in my life. Having lost a sister at such a young age put things in perspective for Lee, who says she cherishes making music and wants to love. “What else is there?” she ponders. “I don’t care about the stupid things as much as I would if I hadn’t been through that. The song is about me from the perspective of a child back then, and I go back to that place a lot of times. I went there and wrote the song that way. It’s not the kind of thing that I would normally say on a megaphone in front of millions of people.”

Co-founder and lead singer of Evanescence. Born in Riverside, California on December 13, 1981, moved to West Palm Beach, Florida; Rockford, Illinois and finally stopped in Little Rock, Arkansas. ==Out of the Shadows==
In 2005, Amy became a spokesperson for the Epilepsy Foundation and launched a campaign called 'Out of the Shadows'. The goal is to help spread awareness about epilepsy and to encourage people to not discriminate against people with epilepsy. This campaign is important to Amy, as well as her family, because her younger brother has epilepsy and she has seen first hand the effect it has.

In 2000, Amy sang guest vocals on [[David Hodges]]' songs 'Breathe' (The Summit Church: Summit Worship CD) and unreleased song of his called 'Fall Into You'.

She did back up vocals on [[Big Dismal]]'s song '[[Missing You]]' off of their 2003 debut release CD, Believe.

Did some vocals on the [[Underworld]] soundtrack in 2003 but after some issues with her record label her voice was never used. Her name still appears in the credits though.

Amy is featured on Seether's song 'Broken. The song was released as a single in 2004 and can be found on The Punisher soundtrack and on Seether's Disclaimer II album.

The song was originally written for the movie The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe, but was scrapped by the director. "I thought it would be awesome for the opening scene, but they wanted something original," says Lee of the Mozart cover.

"Dave Campbell is an enormous inspiration source for me," says Amy. "He’s so talented. The way he arranges orchestral parts is remarkable. It's the element of our music that makes me cry!"

Terry's guitar solo in the middle of the song adds to its sheer epic sound before the choir closes with a stunning decrescendo.

I saw Amadeus when I was nine years old and fell in love with Mozart. The part of Mozart's Requiem called "Lacyrmosa" is my favorite piece of music ever. I always wished we could cover it, but with programming and guitars and make it cool. It's our moment to try all the things I wanted to and couldn't, so I started messing with it in Protools. Terry wrote some riffs and turned it into this awesome metal epic."

Amy Lee is quoted to have said, “We've all fallen, but at the same time we're not broken. There is the hint that we are going to get up again.” This is one of the reasons that Fallen is called what it is. Ben Moody in an interview said that Fallen was made to let people know that they aren’t alone when they feel alone or feel pain. Fallen has sold well over 14 million copies worldwide and about 5 and a half million in the US alone. The album debuted at #7 and has not fallen below #39 to date on the Billboard Album Chart. The album stayed in the top 10 for 43 non-consecutive weeks. Released March 4th, 2003. The CD was re-released in January 2004 with the band version of My Immortal. Sometimes incorrectly known as Further Away. Recorded as a demo in 2001-2002 and later made into a B-side on the Bring Me to Life single. Performed live regularly during the many legs of the Fallen tour, which has spanned a year and a half. 

When performed live, back in 2003, [[Ben Moody]] used to play the drums towards the end of the song.

Amy Lee is quoted to have said, “We've all fallen, but at the same time we're not broken. There is the hint that we are going to get up again.” This is one of the reasons that Fallen is called what it is. Ben Moody in an interview said that Fallen was made to let people know that they aren’t alone when they feel alone or feel pain. Fallen has sold well over 14 million copies worldwide and about 5 and a half million in the US alone. The album debuted at #7 and has not fallen below #39 to date on the Billboard Album Chart. The album stayed in the top 10 for 43 non-consecutive weeks. Released March 4th, 2003. The CD was re-released in January 2004 with the band version of My Immortal. Fallen was Grammy nominated for Album of the Year in 2004. [[John LeCompt]] and [[Rocky Gray]] both had writing credits on Fallen before they officially joined the band. John has credits on Taking Over Me and Rocky has credits for writing the original version of Tourniquet (originally called My Tourniquet) for his then-band, [[Soul Embraced]].
