Meant to describe something that doesn't actually exist. Generally refers to Evanescence music compilations released by independent companies.

Ultra Rare Trax Volumes 1, 2 & 3
In 2003, one of the more elaborate and competent compilations was produced. Ultra Rare Trax features most of Evanescence's pre-fallen era Demos and EPs in very good CD quality. The CDs come in Digipack style cases with Fallen era promo photos (mostly of Amy) and are of moderate professional quality.

The compilations state that they were produced by Wind-up Records "FOR PROMOTIONAL USE ONLY. NOT FOR SALE", however the presence of the last track on vol. 3 suggests otherwise. They were made in Hong Kong.

Björk is a singer/songwriter who grew up and was born in Iceland. Her musical career began in 1977 when Björk was 12 and a radio station helped her create an album of covers of popular songs. She then collaborated in many bands such as Tappi Tikarrass, KUKL, The Elgar Sisters and The Sugarcubes. The Sugarcubes was the band that spring boarded her career into the international scene, but after their third studio album, the group disintegrated:

"Sugarcubes, number one was people. We liked each other and we had a good time together and the music that came out of that relationship was a bit of an accident. When I realized the Sugarcubes had become this serious band-thing, I started to realize that it was now or never. If I didn't record all those songs I'd written in my head, then it would never do it."

"You shouldn't milk out a joke for too long."

After a few other collaborations, Björk finally released her first official solo album of new material titled Debut. The album, rich with playful beats and unique melodies, quickly went Platinum in the U.S.

Her presence in the pop scene continued with subsequent releases Post, a more electronically inspired album with classic elements, then Homogenic, which experimented further with her unique sound and spawned the song 'All Is Full of Love' (the video of which, directed by Chris Cunningham, won countless awards for it's advances in video technology) and one of Amy's favorite Björk songs: 'Jòga.'

After the era of Homogenic, her focus changed to the movie Dancer In The Dark in which she starred and for which she wrote the soundtrack titled Selmasongs. Björk played a blind woman, Selma, who used music to overcome her many problems in life, and ultimately her death.

Vespertine came next where Björk played with tiny beats and sounds, while still always keeping classical strings a vital part of her repitoire. It was within the era of Vespertine where the famous Swan Dress appeared, which raised eyebrows at the 2001 Academy Awards.

Her next studio album, Medúlla, features music that is almost 100% human vocals (While most of the album consists of vocals, a few instruments managed to sneak in. There is a gong on 'The Pleasure is all Mine,' a bass synth on 'Oceania,' and Björk plays the piano on 'Ancestors'). The avant-garde sound of this album is totally different from any of her previous work. It is the only album, as of yet, that has not been toured live.

Björk later starred in and wrote the soundtrack for her current boyfriend Matthew Barney's movie Drawing Restraint 9, an art film that focuses on 'change of form.' The movie briefly toured independent theaters around the world and spent over a year at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art as an exhibit. Björk explored traditional Japanese music styles to complement the experimental film where two lovers find themselves on a whaling ship and cut off and eat pieces of each other's legs before making love, turning into whales, and swimming away (to put it simply).

Her most recent studio album, Volta, was released in April and was be accompanied by her first worldwide tour in 4 years. The album is yet another reinvention for the artist with strong brass rhythms and creative use of unique instrumentation.

Björk has two children, her son Sindri (born June 8th 1986) and her daughter Ísadóra (born October 3rd 2002). Sindri bears a very striking resemblance to his mother.

Amy and Björk
When asked about her significant musical influences, Björk is almost always mentioned by Amy in interviews. A few times she elaborates:
<blockquote>"She's my idol," Lee gushed. "It was the only time I was awestruck. I was so shocked to meet her I could hardly speak, which is embarrassing. Because I believe we're all equal and fame doesn't mean much and that we're all just people. But with Björk, it was so hard for me. I've always been that 'dumb fan' with her. Her art has inspired me so much. I wanted to understand all her lyrics because they were so intimate. It was like she was offering a piece of herself she would never be able to if not through her art. When people approach me freaking out — shaking and crying — I just tell them I'm no different. I want to tell them that I'm nothing special. But I also don't want to ruin their moment. But there I was, pulling the same crap on Bjork," Lee said, letting out a big sigh. "I felt like such a stupid fan. 'I can't stick around for champagne, Björk, I have to go off and cry.' And I did. I held it together and then I went off and cried. I had just seen her perform for the first time." (Source)</blockquote>

<blockquote>"I'd love to collaborate with Bjork," but I honestly don't think there's anything I could bring to the table the she couldn't do better. I just saw her live the other night in Madison Square Garden and was completely stunned as always. I leave her show an emotional wreck- if any of you haven't explored her music, RUN to the store and buy Post, Homogenic, Vespertine, or ANY of them. There is nothing like Bjork. She is the Mozart of our time." (Source)</blockquote>

Amy's favorite Björk album is Post.

When Amy is sad, she listen "Vespertine".

Amy has also been spotted at a few of Björk's live performances.
Errors
Lfml 1: /* Amy and Björk */

General Information
Origin was released on November 4th, 2000, in Little Rock, Arkansas. Many different versions of Origin exist, but there’s only one true track listing. Only 2500 copies of the original were made. Bigwig Enterprises stopped selling Origin in early February 2003 (a day or two before the Daredevil Soundtrack album was released) and removed it from their catalogue. Real and fake copies are bought on EBay for upwards of $300. Amy Lee does not consider this an album, but rather a collection of demos that they "dressed up" to send to different major labels.

The album contains early versions of songs found on Fallen: My Immortal, Imaginary, Whisper.

The original release contained a hidden track, which is located before the first track. In order to hear it, you have to rewind (while hearing what you are rewinding) the first song and reach -0:24 approximately (yes, minus). It is an outtake of the end of the bridge of Anywhere, featuring Amy Lee and David Hodges singing and apparently Ben Moody says a few words at the end of it, just before Origin begins.

The frontal cover was created by Rocky Gray.

The end of the album was originally supposed to include the song Listen To The Rain between the songs Eternal and Demise. Pre-releases of the album included this song, but the finished product did not include the song (Listen to pre-release ending).
The following images are original concept art from Bigwig Enterprises' production team (not scans). The disc is a scan, but only because original vector-based artwork doesn't begin to resemble the actual disc. These are as accurate as images of this disc can get. They are gently watermarked to discourage bootlegging.

The insert is a tri-folded demigloss, light-medium weight paper with one side of color images and the reverse side of grayscale. The tray insert is single-sided. The piece of plastic that the disc sits in is opaque. In the front of the front insert can be noticed a latin text:
Fake "Re-Release"
In 2003, a "re-release" of Origin came out supposedly under the label 'Epic' although was in fact a fake. It contained most of the tracks from the real Origin, however with some tracks, different versions were used. In the case of Whisper and My Immortal, the Fallen versions were used.

The audio portion of the CD was very poorly produced, and in most cases, the songs were either corrupted or of low quality (as if downloaded as an MP3 and then burned on the CD). This bootleg has very elaborate and professional looking artwork, with a silk screened, factory pressed CD and a fold out booklet with a small biography (which mostly rambles on about the 'Christian band' controversy).

The CD contained 'Bonus Tracks' such as Missing (which is very corrupted and of extremely low quality), the Nirvana cover 'Heart-Shaped Box', and a [rather bad] trance remix of Bring Me To Life.

The CD itself has a red silkscreen with black bird design with the word "sorry" on it. The jewel case has a gothic red design with a speckled face on the back along with the track listing. The inside tray artwork has an image of the band (the one from the booklet in Fallen). The cover has a skull design that is similar to the actual album released by the band. The most noticeable difference is the Evanescence Logo, which is pointy and unlike any design officially released by the band.

On the back artwork the fine print/credits are actually copied from the back of Fallen.

Modern Bootlegs
Recently, bootlegs are now becoming harder and harder to distinguish from the real thing. The authentic artwork, distinctive CD numbers and tracklisting—right down to the hidden outtake track—are all present and in (apparently) extremely good quality. There is some speculation that someone from Bigwig Enterprises is producing these items because of their immaculate authenticity, but this cannot be verified. Either way, these bootlegs are saturating the online auction market and making it nearly impossible to acquire a real copy of the album. They usually sell for around $40-$60 on eBay. The only real way to tell is that the fakes will have a brownish hue to the album art where real copies are pure black.

Amy Lee (born December 13, 1981 in Riverside, California) is the co-founder and lead singer of Evanescence. Her family moved to West Palm Beach, Florida, Rockford, Illinois, and finally stopped in Little Rock, Arkansas. Responsible for many of Evanescence’s hard hitting lyrics and is the main songwriter on the new album, The Open Door. Amy provides the image for the band and does most of the interviews. Ben Moody discovered Amy Lee’s voice in summer camp in 1994 when she performed a few lines of Meatloaf’s "I'd Do Anything For Love." After that, the rest is history. She is currently one of the most popular and sought after voices in music today.

Image
Lee has a trademark neo-goth style, marked by her use of gothic make-up and taste for Victorian-styled clothing (her favorite era of time). She dyes her hair jet black, though her hair is actually dark brown. Her eyes are green but she used to wear blue contacts (Fallen era). She also designs many of her own clothes, including those worn in the music video for Going Under and the dress she wore at the 2004 Grammy awards. After she designed it, she chose Japanese designer H. Naoto to make it for her, although she does sometimes make her own clothes. In concerts, she often wears a corset and fishnets. Amy used to have a notable piercing on her left eyebrow which she had taken out and had re-pierced a few times, but she took it out for good sometime in mid-2005.

Many fans praise Lee for her refusal to emulate other celebrities by using sex appeal in her music. She has stated on a number of occasions that she would never flash her breasts or engage in other publicity stunts that would draw attention to herself. In fact, in the music video for Everybody's Fool, she aimed to mock such artists by suggesting celebrities who use sex to appeal to an audience are, in fact, merely peddling "lies" (the unifying theme of the music video). <ref name=VH1>Moss, Corey.
In her personal life, she enjoys being a girl. Her clothing style is quirky and marked by her frequent use of not-so-goth clothes (she stated in an interview with AOL that she was wearing "something floral"). She explains it as a professional thing, saying that her image onstage is so different from her normal clothes because it completes the image; if she were to come out onstage in pink boots and a track suit and sing about despair, it would totally ruin the image.

Kerrang Magazine readers voted her #1 Sexiest Rock Women with Hayley Williams from Paramore comming in 2nd.

Amy Lee will be honored with National Music Publishers' Association Songwriter Icon Award for 2008. She will recieve the award on June 18 in New York City. This award is very priviledged as only one person gets it per year out of the whole music industry. She will also perform for them. The Icon Award recognizes outstanding songwriters for personal achievement and who personify the vision of NMPA and the goals of its members. Former recipients include Jimmy Webb and Neil Sedaka. To see the official page, click here:

Style
Lee, the principal lyricist and composer of Evanescence, employs simple yet expressive melodies that stand alone or intertwine with accompanying guitars. Many melodies involve a submelody or return to a base note or sequence, as in the choruses of "Good Enough," "Breathe No More," and the live Korn cover "Thoughtless" as well as the intro and bridge of "Imaginary," among others. Many of the piano parts are comprised of melodies with minimal chords and left-hand accompaniment, both when played with guitar parts ("Lithium," "Like You," "Your Star," "Going Under," "Thoughtless," among others) and alone or featured with minimal backing ("Lithium," "Lose Control," "The Only One," "Good Enough," "Bring Me To Life," "Imaginary," "Taking Over Me," "Hello," "Breathe No More," "Thoughtless," among others).

Range
Lee has an impressive recorded vocal range, stretching from E3 (“Snow White Queen,” 0:40/2:04) to C#6 ("Weight of the World," 2:46/2:51). On an MTV Diary special, Lee is shown warming up for a show where she sings a D#6 (4:35/4:37, as timed from the beginning of the Evanescence section), giving her an exhibited range one semitone short of three octaves.

Out of the Shadows
In 2005, Amy became a spokesperson for the Epilepsy Foundation and launched a campaign called Out of the Shadows. The goal is to help spread awareness about epilepsy and to encourage people to not discriminate against people with epilepsy. This campaign is important to Amy, as well as her family, because her younger brother has epilepsy and she has seen first hand the effect it has.

Amy is currently supporting too To Write Love on Her Arms, a non-profit movement dedicated to presenting hope and finding help for people struggling with depression, addiction, self-injury and suicide. Her husband, Josh Hartzler, has a counseling background. Amy was wearing a T-shirt of the movement on 11/12/2007, in Nissan Live on Yahoo! Music.

Other Appearances
In 2000, Amy sang guest vocals on David Hodges' songs 'Breathe' (The Summit Church: Summit Worship CD) and unreleased song of his called 'Fall Into You'.

She did back up vocals on Big Dismal's song 'Missing You' off of their 2003 debut release CD, Believe.

Did some vocals on the Underworld soundtrack in 2003 but after some issues with her record label her voice was never used. Her name still appears in the credits though.

Amy is featured on Seether's song Broken. The song was released as a single in 2004 and can be found on The Punisher soundtrack and on Seether's Disclaimer II album.

She appears on Korn's 2007 MTV Unplugged album on the track 'Freak On A Leash'. The song was also released as the first single.

Amy also appeared with Finger Eleven live. It is one of the two videos favorited by the official Evanescence YouTube.

Tools of the Trade
On tour, Amy uses a Baldwin baby grand piano with a keyboard insert (a baby grand piano shell with an electronic keyboard instead of an acoustic piano on the inside). She also uses a stand-alone Baldwin keyboard and Shure Microphones.

At the 50th Grammy Awards, Amy disclosed that she was working hard learning the harp, practicing two hours a day.

MySpace
Amy Lee does not have a MySpace page. There are several impostor MySpace pages claiming to be Amy Lee. They are not real. <ref name=myspace>Lee, Amy.
