"Going Under" was commercially released as a single on September 8, 2003.<ref name=amazoncom /> It is the second single off ''[[Fallen]]'', though it was originally intended to be the first. The decision to make "[[Bring Me to Life]]" the first single was made by the record label who felt that a female-fronted rock band wouldn't necessarily do well with the public.{{fact}} "Going Under" did fairly well, receiving heavy airplay during its era and certifying gold in Australia.<ref name=aria />

The physical single features the cover photo by an anonymous photographer (no credits are given on any international release) who is assumed to be Frank Veronsky—the photographer of all promotional images for ''Fallen''. The original photo appears on the majority of international singles. The yellowed photo on the DVD single and the Brazilian single has been adjusted in photoshop but is the same original picture. The background artwork usually features a blue stylized motif except for, again, the Brazilian single which has completely different artwork including a video still.

The only oddity amongst international releases is the Spanish CD Single where the tracklisting has substituted the standard Live Acoustic performance of the title track with a performance recorded in Spain. The two are almost unnoticeably different from each other.

"Going Under" was commercially released as a single on September 8, 2003.<ref name=amazoncom /> It is the second single off ''[[Fallen]]'', though it was originally intended to be the first. The decision to make "[[Bring Me to Life]]" the first single was made by the record label who felt that a female-fronted rock band wouldn't necessarily do well with the public.{{fact}} "Going Under" did fairly well, receiving heavy airplay during its era and certifying gold in Australia.<ref name=aria />

The physical single features the cover photo by an anonymous photographer (no credits are given on any international release) who is assumed to be Frank Veronsky—the photographer of all promotional images for ''Fallen''. The original photo appears on the majority of international singles. The yellowed photo on the DVD single and the Brazilian single has been adjusted in photoshop but is the same original picture. The background artwork usually features a blue stylized motif except for, again, the Brazilian single which has completely different artwork including a video still.

The only oddity amongst international releases is the Spanish CD Single where the tracklisting has substituted the standard Live Acoustic performance of the title track with a performance recorded in Spain. The two are almost unnoticeably different from each other.

The Bring Me To Life single was commercially released worldwide on April 22, 2003. Prior to that—in late 2002—the song was released along with [[My Immortal]] on the [[Daredevil Soundtrack]] and received radio airplay. The soundtrack release springboarded Evanescence's music into the public's eye for the first time on an international scale. [[Wind-up Records|Wind-up]] did a fantastic job promoting the single by saturating the market with albums, images and the music video. As evident by the sheer number of single releases, this was—and still remains—Evanescence's biggest single. '''Bring Me to Life''' has been certified Gold in many countries.

From a collector's standpoint, finding most releases isn't all too difficult. It is still possible to find the standard UK single brand new in stores almost 5 years after its release. It is considered by fans to be one of the best singles because it included 2 unreleased songs ([[Farther Away]] and [[Missing]]) along with a significantly different version of the title track. This single also saw the ''only'' release in a Cassette format for a non-Asian country.

The cover image is actually 3 photos combined, all by Frank Veronsky. The leftmost photo is the same as the back of [[Fallen]], the center is Fallen's cover and the right image is the photo from the back page of Fallen's booklet. The black 'Daredevil' releases also feature a three-photo collage with [[Ben Moody|Ben]], [[Amy Lee|Amy]] and [[David Hodges|David]] in the only promotional photo that the band released pre-fallen since [[Origin]]. The photo is uncredited.

The Sweet Sacrifice single was commercially released in Germany on May 25th, 2007. Released in 2 parts; a Basic version and a Maxi. Both of which feature photos by [http://www.amyvcooper.com/ Amy V. Cooper]. There are no known releases for the rest of the world, except for the release in Greece. The UK was supposed to release both parts on May 8th, but all UK Sweet Sacrifice singles were recalled (according to ebay sellers) and never released. As Germany and Taiwan are the only producers of the release, it is sure to become one of the rarest of the Evanescence singles as it has always been somewhat difficult to acquire. It is assumed that the simultaneous lineup changes ([[John LeCompt|John]] and [[Rocky Gray|Rocky]] leaving the band) are to blame for the lack of promotion for the single.

The Going Under single was commercially released in the UK on September 9, 2003, and to the rest of the world on September 15, 2003. The second single off [[Fallen]], though it was originally intended to be the first. The decision to make [[Bring Me To Life]] the first single was made by the record label who felt that a female-fronted rock band wouldn't necessarily do well with the public. ''Going Under'' did fairly well, receiving heavy airplay during its era and certifying gold in a few countries.

The physical single features the cover photo by an anonymous photographer (no credits are given on any international release) who is assumed to be Frank Veronsky—the photographer of all promotional images for [[Fallen]]. The original photo appears on the majority of international singles. The yellowed photo on the DVD single and the Brazilian single has been adjusted in photoshop but is the same original picture. The background artwork usually features a blue stylized motif except for, again, the Brazilian single which has completely different artwork including a video still.

The only oddity amongst international releases is the Spanish CD Single where the tracklisting has substituted the standard Live Acoustic performance of the title track with a performance recorded in Spain. The two are almost unnoticeably different from each other.

The Going Under single was commercially released in the UK on September 9, 2003, and to the rest of the world on September 15, 2003. The second single off [[Fallen]], though it was originally intended to be the first. The decision to make [[Bring Me To Life]] the first single was made by the record label who felt that a female-fronted rock band wouldn't necessarily do well with the public. The digital version of this single was released on November 14th, 2011. For unknown reasons, the downloads were only available to some countries on iTunes and Amazon. It contained the sought after Pop Version of this song, which featured a piano intro with only Amy Lee's vocal, and the band kicked in on the second verse.

This was the first single of this era to have a WUJC (U.S radio promo) release, though no commercial release was ever printed. For this reason, these promos are highly sought after by collectors.

The music video for this song was not released until quite some time after the single release, on January 24th, 2012. No one is sure why there was such a large gap between the two.
