Well, it's official - I have a flat and am moving out eithor tomorrow or Wednesday, so I will no longer have access to the internet. Bummer, huh?
Anyway, the place I have is only a block from my workplace, which is very convienient.
I am a little nervous, and am curious to know what everyone's experiences were, moving out for the first time. Was it scary, did you adjust easily, did you have problem neighbours, etc etc.
Hopefully I will make it online again tomorrow to see your replies, but that may not happen, so, if it doesn't, I will miss you all, and I hope to catch up with you all very soon!:)

I first moved out of home 3 years ago to come to university, and even though I go back every summer (christ I sound like Harry Potter) I love being away in my own space.
Admittedly I am not a big family person, but it's the 1st time I'd had my own space, and sure over 3 years I've made a lot of mistakes, but hell they've been my own mistakes, and they'll be there to remind me in the future.
Caming away from home, allows you to be you, or to maybe find a different you. Recently my brother came to visit me and he was amazed at how different I am here, compared to how different I am back home.
I hope your move works out for you, and you get your net sorted!

The only thing I am a tad worried about is that I will not be able to budget properly. I keep spending money, even when I don't spend any it seems to disapear. I hope when I get all that sorted I will not have to be concerned about finances.

Moving out on my own was a great experience. It does take awhile to figure out budgeting, but you figure it out quickly when it comes to eating and things like that. As far as neighbors go, I had some loud ones to begin with, nothing that earplugs couldn't solve. I guess it just depends on the thickness of the walls :) Good luck with the exerience! I hope it works out for you. Have fun!

I'm still horrific with my budgeting but like I said, leassons are there to be learnt, you sound a little more family-orientated than I, but the only thing I can offer you is, have no expectations and be yourself.

I've been in my new place for nearly a week, and have actually managed to keep it tidy! I came home for a few hours today to say hello to my cat, whom I couldn't take with me. I'm about to head off again. I'm enjoying myself, although I get bored as I have nothing to do. I need to find a hobby!:D
I hope you are all well, and hopwfully I'll catch up with you all again soon!;)

My hubby and I moved here to our first place almost two years ago! Were were thrilled to move out of his moms place it really doesn't work to live with your mother in law for years!! It wasn't as hard for me because I wasn't alone in a big place all by myself! I'm really good at budgeting because in high school I was in the academy of finance I guess it paid off! Every month I write down our expected income and then factor in all the bills rent, electric, phone etc then i calculate all the flexing bills a lot of people forget about like laundry, gas, food, toiletries etc. then from that I know what I can and can not spend:p I'm sure you will figure it out with time!;)

Living alone is okay, I have some strange neighbours who worry me, though. Fighting in the middle of the night, that sort of thing, gangs and whatnot.

I moved out at 16, went to a caravan park, or trailer park you Americans would say, and got into enough trouble in a one year period to last a lifetime. It explains why I'm such a homebody now. If theres a way to get yourself into shit, I did it when I first moved outta home. I was indeed a moron! my advice, stay with your parents as long as you can, save as much money as you can, and buy all the nice shit you want before your out on your own, its much harder to buy nice stuff when you have a mortgage and kids trust me.:D

Well, I have been out for just over two months, and I am enjoying it. I love having my own place, and it even looks like my own place now, all that is left to do is put up pics of Ev on my walls!:)
