wtf. i swear it was 2 years ago i was 18. where did time go?

i always remembered my "elders"(uncles, mom, dad ect..) telling me enjoy your young years while you can, because they'll be gone sooner than you know it. and at this time "lunch" couldn't come soon enough while i was sitting at my desk in middle/highschool. the days dragged on FOREVER. summer break always seemed eons away.

ever since i hit about 20 though, time has been flying by at a ridiculous pace. days, weeks, months just cruise the fuck by. is it about to be '07? are you serious??? i swear, the year 2000 seems only about 2/3 years ago. i guess it can go by faster when you have a year round, 9-5 job, but still...... time is a sonafobitch.

EDIT. aaaannnnddd i spelled sonafobitch wrong in the title... i blame that on time too.

IA. My senior year is almost halfway over, and here I am wondering where all the time went. I only have a semester of high school left, I've got to live it up!

Seriously. Same here. I can't believe it's almost 2007 already, and that I'm not 18, or 20 anymore. I keep thinking it's still 2000. Or some other year close to that one. Where the hell did the past few years go??

I want them back.

I want to go back to the year right after I finished high school. Good times.

Growing older freaks me out. I still can't get over the fact that I'll be 25 next year. :(
I feel the need to start a family too lately. Which creeps me out even more.

I know what you mean, I mean this semester at uni has flown seems only 2 minutes ago that I was moving into my room, that was Septermber and now it's Christmas again.

Time does fly and it is important to live life while you can, I had a small taste of that 3 years ago when I worked at a summer camp in Ivoryton, CT, man that was an unforgettable summer.

Fingers crossed I'll be headed over to Canada soon to visit a friend who's moved to uni there in Toronto, and also I'll be travelling Europe this coming summer money allowing.

There's so much I want to do, I don't want to become a 'what if' kinda guy.

PS: Anyone who wants to donate money to my travelling fund is very welcome to! :D

agree!!! New Year's Eve 2000 I told my Mom "aww great, now we're in the 21th century." I was 8 in those days and I'm 15 now, that's scary. It seems only 3 years ago. Really! I don't want to know how fast I'll turn 20.

I don't know how I got to be 24 years old already. I feel like I've lost so many years of my life. I seriously wish I could do it over, starting at age 16.

And that is a horrible feeling.

I know EXACTLY what you mean. I have this sick obsession with time crumbling right in front of my eyes. I think about it every day. For example, I can be on my lunch break at work and just think, "I may be on break now, but in seemingly a matter of seconds, I'll be back at work. And there's a half hour GONE."

Wonder how long it will take me to kill myself out of fear.

Yeah; I've been having that crisis, too. Yes, I'm only 19, but I'm going to be 20 in almost exactly 5 months. Yeah, I know, it's only 20...but I won't be a teenager anymore. And I would really like to know where the crap those teenage years went. Ever since junior year in high school, I've felt like I'm stuck in the rapids part of a river, getting pulled along at a dizzying rate while also watching stuff slip away from me.

I mean, really. Wasn't I 17 like three months ago? Didn't I turn 18 a few weeks ago? WTF @ being at the end of my first semester of sophomore year ALREADY. And when I think about it, I get scared...because I have two and a half years left until I graduate, and now that seems like a frighteningly short time. :X

Glad I'm not the only one feeling freaked out by time going way too fast. :X

Yeah I know the feeling.

I'm going to be 21 in about two and a half months. I can still remember my senior year of high school like it was yesterday, even though I graduated in 2004.

I wish I could do high school over. That's one thing I really wish I could redo.

It's amazing, how fast time creeps up on you. It's also really scary.

I'm only 16, but it seems like the last few years have been going by extremely fast. I still can't believe that I'll be a senior next year, be planning for college and all that.
I'm trying to enjoy high school, because I know my time there is limited. I'm going to miss it once it's over, no matter how much it can piss me off sometimes.

I remember being 6 years old and thinking I'd never reach 12, because that would be double my age. So much time.

And now I just turned 17.

And I completely wasted my first two years of highschool. I hardly did anything fun at all. Just sat there doing homework and not having any form of life at all. Except I was completely conscious of how much of my life was slipping away while it was happening. Made me quite emo for a while, since I knew what was happening and didn't know how to get myself out of a rut....

YAY for quarter-life crises!

I say we all go skydiving together.

Yeah I wasted the first 2 years of high school too, it was lame. My junior year was a little better, but now that I'm a senior I have to make it count.

EvBoard skydiving trip ftw!

I'm 22 right now, and yeah, its the first year I've truly been dissatisfied with the aging process. It's the first year I've really thought "Hey. I've lost my edge." lol

I wish I could stay 21 forever, because 21 is just perfect.

I'll be 16 on Friday. That seems weird. I know it's young, but that doesn't stop it from being weird. I mean, this time next week I could be driving. wtf?? (Well, I wouldn't be going out to drive at midnight... but you get my drift. ;) )

I don't know, in my world it's the year 2000, I'm 12, and my brother is 4 (he's 8 now) None of that actually happened at the same time... that's kind of strange. :p

But lately I feel like I've been wasting a lot of time. I haven't been happy, I haven't been having fun. But I only have 2 1/2 short years left of high school, and I want to make them worthwhile. I don't want to go off to college regretting that I didn't do more with this time.

Its relativity. And it only grows exponentially. 2 years is half a lifetime of memories for a 4 year old. It is a drop in the bucket for a 60 year old. Hold on to your seat, the ride's gonna get faster!

I know what you mean. That's how I was my first two years of high school. I didn't really do anything fun outside of school with my friends, like going to movies and stuff. This year's been different though, I'm making an effort to have fun and go out and enjoy myself while it lasts.

Those of you still in structured school - it gets SOOO much faster once you get out of HS/college. Once you start working, it's once goddam monotonous day after the either, all blended together, and it FLIES. School at least breaks everything up into semesters. Work, it's just milestone holidays.

Jesus, I cannot believe Christmas is here already....it seems like I just did this whole hooplah.

I was thinking about that a couple of weeks ago. Since I've been having to think about what I'm going to do for grad school and I have to think about getting a REAL job... and I just thought Damn, wasn't it just yesterday that I had to go to school from 7-2 every day and hated how horrible it was? Now my life is just school and work and I'm in such a different place.

Where DID time go?

I'm already a third of the way through my school year. Today was day 62 out of 180.

How did THAT happen?

It was definately Thanksgiving last week, and even then, I was only about 3 weeks in. Right?

When I was a sixie (7th grader) they told me each year at this school would go by faster and faster. I'm starting to believe them.

What's up with this? I don't even have to take Latin anymore. I've had to take Latin since forever.....

And fuck! I'm a junior. I'm supposed to be visiting colleges....which so far I haven't done, unless you count walking by Northeastern every day of my life and visiting Katy in her BU dorm. I don't think that really counts much though.

your post reminded me of this ridiculously funny steve martin quote from the jerk.

I know we've only known each other four weeks and three days, but to me it seems like nine weeks and five days. The first day seemed like a week and the second day seemed like five days. And the third day seemed like a week again and the fourth day seemed like eight days. And the fifth day you went to see your mother and that seemed just like a day, and then you came back and later on the sixth day, in the evening, when we saw each other, that started seeming like two days, so in the evening it seemed like two days spilling over into the next day and that started seeming like four days, so at the end of the sixth day on into the seventh day, it seemed like a total of five days. And the sixth day seemed like a week and a half. I have it written down, but I can show it to you tomorrow if you want to see it.

lmao.
