Does anyone know if there exists such a symbol? I searched for a while on Yahoo but didn't find anything anti-religious except for the Pagan symbol, but that's not exactly what I'm looking for.

I'd really like to find a symbol to represent atheism or agnosticism, or just the idea of anti-religion.

I don't think either has a symbol. Keep in mind, being Agnostic means you don't agree or deny in God. You're unsure. Some people take the upside down crosses and pentagrams to be satanic symbols (which can also mean anti-religion in some cases). I suppose it's more up to your interpretation.

1. Just because your an atheist or an agnostic doesn't mean your anti-religion. I'm agnostic theist and I have no problem with people who follow a religous faith.

2. I do not believe there are any symbols that represent atheism or agnosticism.

3. You'll have to go with an upside-down pentagram. The right-side up version is the Wiccan equivalent of the cross so it's not only a good sign but a religious one. Upside-down however is used in the occult which is anti-religion.

That's basically all I know on the subject.

you must really not like religion.

I knew about the inverted cross, but I figured that to be specifically anti-Christ, rather than generally anti-religion or atheist; and it also suggests the worshiping of Satan. I'm not really looking for a religion-hating symbol, but something to represent the idea of agnosticism/atheism.

And no I don't hate religious people or worship Satan or anything like that; I'm just simply an agnostic, and like religious people who wear religious symbols with them, I wanted to find a symbol for what I believe in.

Actually, the inverted cross represents anti-religion as a whole. Trust me on this one. People just mainly associate it with Satanism, because we live in a Christian based society, and people associate Satanism as the opposite of Christianity.

If there's not already a symbol for being agnostic, why not make your own? It all begins somewhere. :)

Atheism & Agnosticism aren't anti-religion, though. You might be personally, but that's not what they're about.

A pentagram in a non-smoking-esque sign.
The iron cross in a non-smoking-esque sign.
The cross of lorraine in a non-smoking esque sign.
The divided line of Plato in a non-smoking esque sign.
The white rose of York in a non-smoking esque sign.
The yin-yang in a non-smoking-esque sign.
The tree of life symbol in a non-smoking-esque sign.
The Hand of Fatima in a non-smoking-esque sign.
The torii (shinto) in a non-smoking-esque sign.

But maybe those above wouldnt work, because something outta nowhere tells me we're looking strictly for something anti-Christian/mainstream or something in direct contrast.

Actually, i have no clue. I dont see atheism as anti-religion. Just without it. But then, I'm open minded to it, so I dont have a one-side-or-the-other view. I think because there is not one religion, there is also not one universal anti-religious sign (as shown by the fact that there are like 40 religious symbols that aren't our favorite controversial pagan ones, nor the cool-to-hate Judeo-Christian ones); beside the fact that atheism is not anti-religion at heart.

Maybe agnosticism is a huge question mark? I dont think they have a symbol, only because its not some organized party that lives and breathes like Jews or Christians or esoterics or anything like that. Theres also like 7 levels to agnosticism and atheism. Yeah, most of them boil down to the definitions we all know, but philosophies like nihilism, existentialism, etc. began primarily just to refute the opposite belief- hence, they have so many levels to them because they honestly dont have like 1 goal or 1 on-paper principle to follow or commandments or any of that. There are agnostic theists, and even "ignostics".

I also wanted to suggest that ;)

Or maybe it's a big question mark with one of these:

I'm agnostic. I believe there is something, and I believe that there are some things stronger than death, but until we're actually dead, nobody absolutely knows what's going to happen. As much as we believe, or want to believe something, you don't actually know until your dead.

So 'do not question' would be a good symbol, IMO.
