On September 7th Anna Nicole gave birth to a healthy 6 pound, 9 ounce baby girl. Her son Daniel was in the Bahamas with her to share in the joy of his baby sister when he passed away suddenly on the morning of September 10th. We have yet to learn the cause of death but do not believe that drugs or alcohol were a factor.

Anna Nicole is absolutely devastated by the loss of her son. He was her pride and joy and an amazing human being. Please do not make any press inquiries at this time so that Anna Nicole can grieve in peace.

Anna Nicole Smith's 20-year-old son has died in the Bahamas, following the recent birth of her daughter.

A statement from Howard K. Stern, the former Playboy Playmate's attorney, did not provide any details of Daniel Smith's death. It read: "We have yet to learn the cause of death but do not believe that drugs or alcohol were a factor. Anna Nicole is absolutely devastated by the loss of her son. He was her pride and joy and an amazing human being."

Stern said Daniel Smith was in the Caribbean where his mother, 38, gave birth to a healthy girl. He appeared in his mother's reality TV series.

In 1994, Smith married wheelchair-bound oil tycoon J. Marshall Howard, 89, after meeting him at a strip club. His death, after 14 months of marriage, sparked a legal battle over his estate between Smith and his son, E. Pierce Marshall. Earlier this year, she won a US Supreme Court decision giving her another chance to collect millions of dollars. Pierce Marshall died in June.

Smith has not revealed the father of her second child.

Now, no matter what anything thinks of her personally, that's just something that no one should have to go through.

Having a baby is suppose to be one of the most exciting times of a person's life where their family & friends are around them. Now she has to deal with one child's loss while another is brought into the world, only few days apart.

Wow. I cannot even begin to imagine how she must be feeling. That is terrible.

And you're right, no matter what anyone thinks of her, no person should have to go through the loss of a child.

:eek: I didn't know she had a 20 year old son. But still, that is something no mother should have to go through. I can't imagine how she must feel. At least her baby is healthy. She'll never get to see her brother :( .

It reminds me of my dead brother and me.. I was only 4 when he passed away.

I agree. How horrible it must be to give birth to a child and lose another barely a few days later. She's supposed to be enjoying her time with her new baby, not mourning the loss of her son. :(
I too hope the media leaves the family alone to grieve, but knowing the whores they are, (the media I mean) they probably won't. :(

That's terrible. As you have all said, no one should have to go through that. Having a child is a wondering but to lose at the same time, I can't imagine that emtions you go through.

I had a friend who died in a car crash few years ago, her mom was 8 months pregnant at the time. It made me sad to think that that little baby wasn't ever going to know her or his sister.:(

Wow... that's terrible, Congrats to Anna for the new baby, sorry for the loss of her son. The thing to expect is some decency from the media (if there is any left). Maybe the kid had health issues since before...

at least she has the newborn baby she can cling to and give love to :( - even if it won´t take the pain of loosing her son from her - it´s better than to be completely alone...

But it sounds like he got to meet is little sister briefly, and that's an important thing. The little girl will never remember him, but a single picture of the two of them together can make all the difference.

I have already encountered people who don't give a shit. I can't believe how blatently cruel they are. "Who cares, it's only Anna Nicole'.

It DOES matter. It doesn't matter what you think of the woman, the fact is, she loved a son and lost him just days after giving birth to her daughter.:(

the media is full of shit. Unless they've gone through what Anna is going through right now they should keep their Bias mouths shut.

Goodness that's terrible. I'm so sorry to hear of her loss in the family. My thoughts do go out to her.

The first thing I thought was, "Maybe it was a cardiac arrythimia." My mother lost her best friend to it this year...

My thoughts are with her- no one deserves to have this happen to them. She always seemed to really love him and have his best intentions in mind. She may have been a little controversial when it came to her public image, but from what I saw, she was a good mother to him.

Didn't she have her son at a very young age? 18, wasn't it? I figure that, because he was 20 and she is 38, so she had to have been at least 18 when she had him.
